Baselines help you compare new applicants for a particular job or position to a pre-developed range, based on the Personality Profile Reports of some of your best, most successful employees in that role. Although developing and using baselines is optional, it’s recommended at least to help you prioritize your interview process.

By comparing a group of job applicants to your baseline, you can identify and interview the candidates who come closest to that baseline right away. This gives you the chance to interview them before too much time elapses -- and before they take another job elsewhere. It also helps you identify the key characteristics and traits in new applicants that you attribute to the success of your best employees.
