Finding the right people to work with and care for kids is one of the most important and challenging jobs there is. How do you find people who provide outstanding care and meet safety requirements while constantly dealing with illnesses, tantrums and bad behavior – from both kids AND their parents?
It’s not easy. You have to find candidates with both the right skills and the right personality traits (all while on a fixed budget). Getting the wrong person at your preschool or daycare center can mean more than a “bad hire” – it can mean poor online reviews, a damaged reputation, loss of funds and, in the worst cases, legal, PR or health scares.
But when turnover is high and budgets and time are tight, how do you make sure you get qualified staff? Who has the temperament to do the job and how do you find the kind of dedicated people you need?
